‘Certificate course of Dance for Special Students’
An initiative by Kalaprangan trust in collaboration with Mumbai University’s Academy of theater Arts
Why this course?
Answer to this question lies in the quote of Henry Ford: Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.
- We humans are social animals. Together we can achieve things much more easily than alone. Personality is influenced by and large by our social interaction with others. Our innermost need to communicate and express drives us to open up and evolve gradually. But for some this doesn’t come naturally. And hence this initiative.
- This course offers an open platform to special students, where they learn to communicate easily, express clearly, balance reactions and inner emotions, gain aesthetic sense in dressing, various postures and overall behavior.
- Offering platform is just not enough. Healthy mind and healthy body are two vital aspects in personality development. Special students need gentle care. We as a society can help them evolve just by taking extra efforts. Weak muscle tone hampers firm body frame, expressions and body coordination. These factors contribute to poor body image.
- Dancing assists in developing physical and mental health resulting in improved confidence level, better expressions and firm body frame. And then they are ready to mingle with others.
- ‘Dancing’, writes John Laches, ‘gives not only merely outward gracefulness of action, but manly thoughts and becoming confident.’ Confidence in oneself is a prerequisite for any kind of achievement. For example, if a child gains confidence through the act of dancing, it will certainly learn other subjects with the same level of confidence. Thus, dancing is a happy harmonious blending of physical education and cultural development and can play a keynote in the development of the character and personality of the special student leading to progress.
दिव्यागण: Divayngan is a well - organized art class for special population wherein they learn to break their inhibitions and enhance their personality through dance, music, expressions, rhythm and varied activities. All in all, we are looking forward to serve you with love and compassion.
