Certificate Course in Dance For Special Students

Faculty of Performing Arts) Ordinances and Regulations Scheme of Examination & Syllabus With effect from academic years 2021 – 2022

The course be titled as “Certificate course in Dance” For special students (In the faculty of performing Arts)

Objectives

To create a platform for special/ differently abled students to learn and improve some of the abilities and skills through dance training.
To encourage students with special needs and try to bring them under the main stream learning.
To skill special students to exploit opportunities in the field of dancing.
To provide adequate understanding about dancing to special students.
To develop the skills by training & practical approach by using modern technology amongst the special students.
Certificate course in Dance aims at importing training of all aspects of dance at performing and therapeutic level.
Due care will be taken to incorporate the best elements of dancing.
The object will be to introduce and create strong dance training for special students which will focus on improvement of specific abilities and skills.
The overall approach will be flexible and open to accept new challenges and execute programmes independently, in collaboration and even as an extent activity. We expect to provide a model to Indian universities through our practical oriented courses in dance for special students.

Eligibility

The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of IQ and age limit.

Moderate IQ i.e. above 30, Age below 30 years

Duration of the course and related information

The course shall be a part time twelve months course with 96 practical hours.
Number of the students each batch shall consist of not more than 12 to 15 students.
No student will be allowed to complete this course or appear for examinations as an external candidate.
The special students will be evaluated on the basis of ‘Movement Evaluation Test, (MET)’.

Scheme of evaluation

Internal evaluation will be done after each 15 to 20 days.
The final evaluation will be conducted at the end of course.
The syllabus will be focusing on practical dance training through which specific
Abilities and Skills will be improved.
The scheme of evaluation will be on ‘FIVE POINT GRADE SCALE’ as follows:
Poor
Fair
Good
Very Good Excellent

Staff requirement

Core faculty - 1 teacher.
And 1 coordinator.
Besides, there shall be visiting faculty drawn from field experts/professionals.
